Best Practice 19: Feedback
It is always a good idea to occasionally solicit student feedback about the most recent lesson or the progress of the course as a whole. The teacher can initiate a feedback session by simply asking the students as a whole to discuss which of this lesson’s activities was the most enjoyable/useful and why or asking them to share their feelings with a partner first.
In either case the class discussion that evolves will enable the teacher to see how they coped with the exercise and feel about the format of the course as a whole. If they like how things are going, great and if not, can they suggest ways to improve it? Not only does this help the teacher better address student needs, but it also contributes to an air of cooperative learning.
