Twenty-two years ago, what began as a spark of passion in the quiet suburbs of Quebec found its way to the sunlit shores of San Blas and into the energetic heartbeat of Mexico City. Along that journey, one conviction has guided every step: the belief that language can break boundaries, open doors, and elevate people beyond physical (and now virtual) borders. That passion, paired with dedication and vision, has shaped Modern Language Center into what it is today.
Under the empathetic and insightful leadership of Steve Généroux and Anabel Mejía, Modern has become much more than a language consulting service. It has evolved into a community driven by a deep desire to see professionals succeed in their industries, not just linguistically, but personally and professionally. As globalization accelerates and industries intertwine, the need to connect across cultures is crucial. The need to understand, to collaborate, to speak with clarity and confidence has never been greater. From the beginning, our mission has been clear: to break linguistic barriers so professionals can thrive collectively.
Every day, we work towards that mission and come closer to achieving our most desired goals. From our early presence at companies like TV Azteca and Sanofi, we now collaborate with more than 32 companies from 7 different countries. We train and empower teams in six different languages, with teachers based around the world; each bringing their own background, culture, and expertise into every session.
Excellence remains our compass. Whether we are coaching executives for high-stakes presentations, preparing teams for global meetings, offering translation and interpretation services, or supporting professionals through language training tailored for business impact, everything we do stems from our commitment to provide excellent services, connect with HR departments, industry leaders, and students, and share our success with others.
Today, we celebrate not just an anniversary, but a legacy in motion. To our teachers, our staff, and our leadership—thank you! Your dedication, passion, and unwavering belief in the mission are the reasons Modern continues to grow and make an impact. The heart of this company beats in every class, every coaching session, every translated word, and every professional whose voice now carries further than before.
Here’s to 22 years of breaking lingüistic barriers, and to many more of shaping global voices with purpose and pride.
