Our second year of ASB saw many facets continue to grow stronger and new student ideas take form! Here are some of the things that our Michael Anderson ASB accomplished this school year:
We started in October with Officer elections and the first round of classroom representatives (serving half of the school year).
We continued to run Fall Games and Spring Sports with the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students during recess.
We formed "Student Leadership Teams" (SLT's) for all ASB members to serve the student body in various ways including PACE awareness, staff appreciation, recycling, Career and College readiness, assembly crew, and welcoming new students to our school.
We voted to use ASB funds to help with purchasing a new sound system to be used for music performances and purchased supplies to run more after-school activities.
We saw several 4th Grade ASB student leaders step up to serve in MAE's Safety Patrol.
We ran a Snack Drive as a part of our Kindness in Dorms (K.I.D.s) initiative in support of the Airmen on Fairchild AFB and collected more than 3,200 food and drink items to donate to the Airman's Lounge.
Both terms of ASB student leaders achieved more than expected and our Officers were wonderful in leading the way through example for everyone to follow. Having a full year behind us now, we know the service opportunities that we have time for and we have ideas and hopes of even more that the students are willing to work hard to make time for. It is my hope that our future student leaders have the same ambition and determination to continue to grow our ASB presence in the school, serving all students and standing as pillars of good character for everyone to see.
