MAE School Counseling Program

Thank you for taking the time to explore the School Counseling Program at Michael Anderson Elementary! Although continually a work-in-progress, the program exists to support K-5 students in their academic, social, and emotional development and to foster growth toward becoming citizens who positively contribute both to their communities and to society. There are several ways that the School Counselor works both directly and indirectly with students to achieve these goals, including short-term individual counseling, small group counseling, classroom lessons, crisis intervention, consultation with teachers, support staff, and parents/guardians and collaboration with community resources.

Seth Sammons

I started with MAE at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year, and before that I worked as the School Counselor at Hallett Elementary for 2017-18. Working on Fairchild AFB has been a great experience and I am constantly learning more about how best to work with students and families in the armed forces. I am passionate about working with elementary students and helping them acquire and practice skills that will help them to be successful in school and in life.

Away from MAE I enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids, hiking throughout the Pacific Northwest, experiencing new restaurants, indoor rock climbing, gardening, traveling and writing movie reviews.

During school hours please feel free to stop by the school to chat, but you can also reach me by phone 509.565.3606, or email ssammons@mlsd.org. Thanks!
