The FBLA "Financial Planning" event is an individual or team presentation competition for high school students that consists of a preliminary and a final presentation. Competitors analyze a client’s financial situation, including income, expenses, debts, assets, and goals, and create a plan addressing budgeting, debt management, investments, retirement, and professional guidance. The top competitors from the preliminary round advance to the final round, where they have 7 minutes to present their strategies and 3 minutes to answer judges’ questions. This event emphasizes financial literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional presentation skills.
