The FBLA "Event Planning" event is a team presentation competition for high school students that focuses on developing and presenting a detailed plan for a real or hypothetical event. Teams of up to three members create a proposal covering goals, target audience, budgeting, logistics, marketing, risk management, and evaluation. Competitors have 3 minutes to set up, 7 minutes to present, and 3 minutes to answer judges’ questions. The top teams advance to the final round based on creativity, organization, and professionalism. This event emphasizes communication, teamwork, leadership, and practical event management skills within the hospitality and tourism industry.
