ALL students are engaged in Tier 1 intervention by their teachers. This can be remediation or acceleration, depending on the student's levels, learning needs, lagging skills, and performance data.

MANY of the things we do in Mechanicville fall under MTSS, like our Scope and Sequence documents, Equity Coalition, Professional Learning Communities, P2, and No Place for Hate.

EVERY SINGLE Student receives Tier 1 intervention, and in ADDITION to that, some need Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 intervention as well. Tiers 2 and 3 do not ever replace Tier 1.
Tier 1 is delivered by a classroom teacher, and Tiers 2 and 3 can be delivered by a classroom teacher, an intervention specialist, a PPS member, or a cooperative Reading or Math Specialist.

All students receive Tier 1 instruction. This is considered their CORE instruction that is delivered by a qualified individual (i.e. Teacher, Teacher Assistant, etc.) with differentiation utilized to meet students at their individual level.
