Here are some free college fly-in programs! Great opportunities to visit away colleges that you may be interested in applying to and see if you like the campus and the school's resources and culture!
Fly in Programs
1. CMC Fall Preview — Diversity Fly-in Program participants will travel to the Claremont McKenna College campus on Sunday, October 6th, and depart on Tuesday, October 8th. All associated costs (including, transportation, housing, and meals during the program) will be covered by CMC. Applications are due August 19th, 2024
2. Journey to Bucknell — Students will have the option to choose between the following dates: Oct. 3-5, 2024 or Oct. 24-26, 2024. Journey to Bucknell is free for students who are selected to participate — plus one parent or guardian as their guest. Applications are due August 23, 2024.
3. The Preview Pitzer Program — Participants will travel to Pitzer College from October 7-9, 2024. The Preview Pitzer Program is a pre-application program designed for high school seniors attending who are either first-generation college students and/or from underrepresented cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds. This program allows all students to visit Pitzer on an all-expenses paid two-and-a-half-day trip to campus. Application due date: August 25th, 2024.
4. University of Rochester’s Multicultural Visitation Program (MVP) — offers a funded campus visit for prospective students from a wide range of backgrounds and allows them to experience Rochester on a more personal level. The fall 2024 MVP Experience will take place from Thursday, November 7- Saturday, November 9 in conjunction with the November 8 Research Rochester open house. The deadline to apply is Friday, October 4 at 11:59 p.m. ET
5. Oberlin Overnight Program — Oberlin Overnight is an exciting opportunity for high school seniors to get a firsthand view of campus life through an overnight stay with a current Oberlin student. Participants will attend classes, tour campus, and participate in special-themed programming. All programs include transportation between the Cleveland airport and Oberlin’s campus, as well as meals and accommodations during the visit. Diversity & Access Program Dates October 10-12, 2024 & November 7-9, 2024. The application deadline is September 22, 2024.
6. WesExplore — The WesExplore funded travel program is an opportunity funded by Wesleyan for high school seniors from backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in higher education to visit campus for Open House. Participants will be able to stay in a dorm with a student host, take a campus tour, visit classes, and attend various panels addressing areas such as: residential life, financial aid, study abroad, and life after Wes. WesExplore will be held on-campus October 13-14, 2024, and November 10-11, 2024. Application Deadline: August 30, 2024.
7. Case Western Reserve University Diversity Overnight — Diversity Overnight is designed for smart and curious high school seniors from diverse backgrounds. You will arrive on Sunday and stay overnight in a local hotel with other program participants. You will have the opportunity to explore our campus located in the heart of Cleveland’s University Circle neighborhood. Applications are due by August 15.
8. Discovering UVM — Discovering UVM is a program geared toward prospective students who have a unique lived experience that will contribute to the vibrancy of our campus. Designed to be an immersive, on-campus program, we offer two opportunities for students to experience Discovering UVM. Participants can select to attend Session 1 in late October or Session 2 in early November. Session 1: Sunday, October 27 through Tuesday, October 29 & Session 2: Sunday, November 5 through Tuesday, November 7. Applications are due by Sep 20, 2024
9. Home at Hamilton — Home at Hamilton is a two-day campus experience designed for high-achieving high school seniors in the US who could not otherwise afford to visit Hamilton. Admission to the program is selective, and students who have not already visited campus and are first-generation to college or from families with limited financial resources will be given preference. Sunday-Monday, October 6-7, 2024. Applications are due by September 3, 2024.
10. Fly-in Program Middlebury — Middlebury hosts a fall fly-in program to help prospective students experience all that our campus and community have to offer. Discover Middlebury will be held on campus October 20-22, 2024. The application deadline is September 6, 2024.
11. Dialogue with Denison — Dialogue with Denison (DWD) is an immersive, fully-funded fly-in program where a select group of around 50 high school seniors will meet to experience Denison’s student leaders, learn about our academic programs, explore student life, and visit organizational spaces. The application deadline is September 1, 2024.
12. Connecticut College Fly-In Program — If selected to attend a Fly-in Program, students will travel to our campus and spend two days participating in a series of informational (and fun) sessions hosted by the Office of Admission. Explore, Nov. 10-12, 2024. Application Deadline: Sept. 15.
13. Women of Distinction Program — An overnight, fully funded fly-in program. We’re offering two Women of Distinction programs for fall 2024. Program I: October 18–19, 2024 Program II: November 8–9, 2024. Application deadline: September 15, 2024.
14. Getting To Know Union — Union College will be hosting an overnight college preview event for high-achieving students from diverse backgrounds. The College will provide transportation and campus meals for all students in attendance. October 13 - October 14, 2024. Applications are due by Monday, September 30, 5:00 pm.
