In Foreign Affairs, we will engage in different political perspectives through international relations. We will learn all about the US Foreign Service and diplomacy.
We will have:
1. Diplomacy based activities: participate in diplomatic simulations, read international relations textbooks, and engage in foreign policy and event discussions
2. Fun activities: optional field trips to museums and embassies, eat delicious food at potlucks, enjoy foreign film viewings, and more!
3. Networking: learn from US foreign service guest speakers, get SSL hours volunteering with international-focused non-profit organizations.

Linguistics club is open to anyone interested in the study of language or doing puzzles. This club is low commitment, for anyone new to linguistics and wanting to know more, anyone already knowledgeable in linguistics and excited to expand their knowledge, or anyone who just wants to do language puzzles.
1. This club is low commitment, relaxed and without prerequisites, no need to try out for anything or have any prior knowledge.
2. We will discuss and learn about a variety of topics, such as syntax, etymology, etc. It's ok if you don't know what these are!
3. We will do practice problems from linguistics olympiad as well as linguistics problems made from other students at RM.

The Model Congress Club attends conferences where students participate in a congressional simulation. Students are able to debate over topics they are passionate about and work together to pass meaningful legislation.
Get to travel to different places for conferences (NYC!), won outstanding delegation at Columbia Model Congress, on 5 different occasions we have had students double gavel (win best delegate in both small committee and full)

Model UN is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and its other multilateral bodies where students perform an ambassador role while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more.

In the National History Club we learn about different events in history from club members in interesting and informative ways that teach the members about events that they may not have known before. The topics can range from a highly famous event in history but also people and other subjects. The events can come from anywhere in the world. We provide SSL opportunities and scholarships that are provided to us by the National History Club Organization. Our club is also a friendly environment for students of all grade levels where they can connect with fellow members over shared interests. We foster a creative learning environment where students can learn about a range of topics in different mediums, such as presentations or games.
1. We create a friendly and comfortable environment where students can practice public speaking, presentation, and lecturing skills through the context of history.
2. We are a chapter of the National History Club Organization, so we have access to scholarships, SSL opportunities and competitions that members and students can participate in.

Psychology Club is a space where we discuss and learn about the psychology field. We dive deeper into topics covered in class, as well as topics that are not taught in the curriculum. We invite psychology experts as guest speakers to provide a valuable insight to students on the application and relevance of psychology outside of the classroom. Select club meeting sessions will be set aside for homework help and AP test preparation.
Common activities will be helping students study. Our goal will be to help students learn more about psychology.

The RM C-SPAN Documentary Club equips its members to enter in the C-SPAN Documentary competition, a national competition encouraging young filmmakers to explore a wide variety of topics related to our government, current events, and solutions to contemporary societal issues. In our meetings, we guide you throughout the production process. Members can improve and develop filmmaking and research skills, and win prize money if they place in this competition! There is no prior experience required!
1. You can win prize money of up to 5000 dollars for your documentary entry, and placing in this national competition can help to boost your college resume!
2. It’s a great way to learn or develop your advocacy and filmmaking skills!
3. We will guide you through the process of entering the competition and can help answer any questions; you don’t need experience in filmmaking to join our club!

RM International is a club dedicated to exploring international relations and how we as RM students can get involved! We'll learn about geopolitics, share current events, present country spotlights, and compete in games for prizes! Additionally, we'll participate in monthly service projects, such as raising awareness for global issues or partnering with charities for a global cause.
1. Low commitment - We'll most likely have monthly meetings full of fun and prizes! Nothing stressful, no background knowledge needed, just come for a good time!
2. SSL hours - We'll participate in large service projects throughout the year, providing an opportunity for you to earn SSL while doing something fun!

The Student Law and Policy Club is for any student who is interested in issues relating to government and what it does, anywhere from antitrust regulation to legal access, jury nullification to climate legislation, and everything in between. We also dissect current problems and think of potential policy solutions. The Law and Policy club meets every two weeks, meeting with professionals in the field and emphasizing discussion, outreach, and analysis.
The Student Law and Policy Club:
1. Discussing events pertaining to the legal system or the impact of legislation i.e breaking down real-life legal cases or debating the impacts of a certain bill
2. Inviting guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields to talk about their work.
3. Community outreach to inform students about their rights and legal procedures, what happens in the government, and how policies impact people here in Montgomery County.

At every meeting there will be a slideshow about an impactful woman in history, and there will be chances for students to ask questions and share their own background knowledge. At the end of every meeting there will be a poll or suggestion for the next woman in history to discuss.
