Becca's Closet is part of a nation-wide non-profit organization that launches dress drives to donate dresses to low-income students for their homecoming or prom. This is a great volunteering experience to provide community service and help underprivileged students across Montgomery County. Club meetings would focus on advertising, organizing volunteers, and prep work to organize the main charity event.

At CAPSA, we want to build a community of dedicated high schoolers that are willing to create materials for tutors who work with middle and elementary school students. If anyone is interested in creating these materials and joining a wonderful community, please look to join this club. We also focus on making lesson slides, and you can gain SSL from all the opportunities we have. The main goal of our club will be to create lesson slideshows, worksheets, and kahoots on certain academic subjects to support that learning environment

Student volunteers meet once to twice a month with seniors at retired communities, helping answer any questions they have and teaching them new things, students who attend these meetings will be given SSL hours. The idea behind meetings it to recruit members and host meetings to give information about HOW to interact at retired communities and planning the activities. The volunteer opportunities are not a requirement to be a part of the club; they are NOT a school-sponsored event, and are completely optional.

In this club students will alter between a planning meeting where we discuss our future outings and goals as a club, and later will go out visiting various communities over the school year, cleaning up as much trash as we can. The winning pair who collected the most trash for each outing will be passed on a golden trash can that should be cherished, until a new leader comes along after later clean up outings.

All outings must be sponsored and supervised by a staff member, and you must get a permission form signed to attend. You do not have to attend the outings to be a part of the club.

Club members will visit a senior center once every other month, to teach or accompany the seniors for SSL. Volunteers will have a chance to plan their own workshops or activities during regular club meetings. It is not an obligation to visit the senior center every time. We will have other SSL opportunities in between, where you can create different crafts which will be given to the seniors. The goal of our club is to help uplift and support seniors through companionship and implementation of enriching activities.

Generation Z Tutoring offers free tutoring to local elementary and middle school students. Members volunteer for one hour each week. Last year we tutored more than 70 kids! SSL hours available.
RMHS students tutor middle/elementary school students in individual tutoring sessions.
Frequency, location, and structure of sessions are flexible and up to the discretion of the tutor and tutee.
Topics/subjects covered depend on the needs of the tutee and the abilities of the tutor.

In this club we will do different activities like toy drives, bake sales, making blankets, and many more in order to donate to children homes.

A club that provides opportunities for students are RM to get CPR, AED, First Aid certified, and more! It will be a partnership with Rescue One Training located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Students will be able to learn important life skills and increase competitiveness on resumes or CV, all while being in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
Various types of certifications available such as CPR, First Aid, and AED , community service, and learn important life skills that can be used in the real world.
The off-campus certification sessions (such as CPR/First Aid certification) will be completely optional for students if they want to opt in (and will be free!), however, we will still be having in school meetings during lunch to discuss lifesaving techniques such as CPR, how to use an AED, and how to administer First Aid. We will be working with non-profit Rescue One.

Paramount Learning offers students free tutoring services based on their needs. The club will meet once in a while with prior notice through email to check in with the tutors. We host events and workshops free for anyone to attend. Readability is a chapter of a non-profit organization that specializes in creating multi-sensory books and hosting storytelling sessions tailored to neurodivergent and intellectually disabled children.

Red Cross Club does humanitarian aid projects and volunteer work through the Red Cross. Red Cross clubs in the region do various work like making kits for Montgomery County families that are affected by house fires, collecting funds for natural disasters worldwide, and collecting school materials for elementary students in need of them. We also assist SGA in the blood drive. SSL hours are definitely available!
