🌟soulful sound Group Members Guideline🌟
We are so glad you’re interested in joining our school’s gospel group! Our group is more than just singing — it’s about building community, lifting each other up, and sharing the joy of music with our school and beyond. To make sure we all work together as one voice, here are our requirements for members.
🎶 1. Commitment to the Group
• Members must be willing to commit to the group for the school year.
• Regular attendance at rehearsals and performances is expected. (We understand emergencies happen, but consistency is important.)
• Members should communicate with the directors/leaders if they cannot attend a practice or event.
🎶 2. Participation & Effort
• Every member should participate in rehearsals with focus and energy.
• You don’t need a “perfect” voice — effort and a willingness to learn are what matter most.
• Come prepared to sing, clap, move, or play instruments as needed. (Instruments are not required)
• Be open to trying new harmonies, learning new songs, or taking on different roles.
🎶 3. Respect & Attitude
• Our fundamentals are treating all members, leaders, and volunteers with KINDNESS and RESPECT.
• Encourage each other instead of criticizing.
• Negative behavior (disrespect, gossip, refusing to cooperate) WONT be tolerated.
• Remember: we are here to LIFT each other up.
🎶 4. Attendance & Punctuality
• Rehearsals will be held after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 3 to 4:45. Members are expected to be on time.
• Frequent absences may affect your ability to perform with the group.
• Performances are mandatory unless excused ahead of time.
🎶 5. Performances & Representation
• Members must be willing to perform at school assemblies, church programs, and community events when scheduled.
• During performances, members should represent the group positively through their words, actions, and appearance.
• A dress code may be set for performances (matching shirts, colors, or modest attire).
🎶 6. Growth & Learning
• Be open to constructive feedback from group leaders.
• Practice songs or parts at home when needed.
• Strive to improve musically, spiritually, and personally throughout the year.
• Our usual themes for the songs you’ll sing will be soulful, joyful, and heartfelt. (We can also do some fun songs that are suggested by the choir members)
🎶 7. Team Spirit
• This is not a competition — it’s about unity, love, and just giving back.
• Support your fellow members both on and off stage.
• Celebrate successes together and work through challenges as a group.
• There will be group bonding once we know everyone’s schedules.
🎶 8. Faith & Inspiration
• While this is a school group, our foundation is gospel music and Christian values.
• Members should respect the spiritual nature of the songs we sing.
• You don’t need to belong to a church, but an open heart and respect for our mission as a choir family are essential.
🌟 Side note
Yes, we do take suggestions, as long as they are appropriate
🌟 Final Note
Joining the gospel group means becoming part of a family. We want every member to feel valued, supported, included, and excited to share their gifts. If you’re ready to sing, let loose, and just have fun — we’d love to have you!
