Asian American Club

Our mission is to learn more about our Asian American identity and culture. We will discover a community within Richard Montgomery that shares a common interest in Asian American individualities. 

Discussions on some of the struggles that Asian Americans face, creates a safe outlet for those who want to learn and speak about their experiences as an Asian American, Asian American history lessons, and overall, just have fun!

Black Student Union (BSU)

The Richard Montgomery Black Student Union is an organization for promoting black excellency, discussion, and representing African American/Black Culture within our school and county. One of our main goals is to uplift the black community through meetings and event planning to share our culture. Finally, we are a safe place for students to discuss and share their ideas regarding topics that heavily impact them. 

Our meetings usually involve a guided presentation format that opens into open-forum discussions where members can add or create a new topic of discussion. Some of our notable achievements include two successful Diaspora Nights during February which include a talent showcase, food, presentations, and a fashion show.

Chicas Charlando

This is a club for Spanish speaking girls (and and any other students interested) to share cultural events and experiences, and get involved in the community.

Chinese Traditional Instrument Club 

The Chinese Traditional Instrument club seek to promote the Chinese culture through beautiful melodies from ancient instruments. This is an excellent platform for students to learn about and experience Chinese culture together! Although the club's primary focus will be on spreading Chinese culture, everyone is welcome to take part in the club, whether they have a Chinese instrument or not.

Chinese Honor Society (NCHS)

The National Chinese Honor Society (NCHS) is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students who demonstrate citizenship, leadership, and community service. The purpose of the National Chinese Honor Society is to encourage its members to become life-long learners in order to gain a better understanding of Chinese language and culture, as well as to play an active role as a contributing global citizen in the twenty-first century.

Ethiopian Eritrean Student Association (EESA)

This club is about celebrating the beautiful and complex Habesha culture! This club will commemorate the food, the dance, and the music of these countries.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

FCA welcomes all students who desire to meet other Christians, learn more about the Bible and have fun! We will host Christian athletes and coaches as guest speakers to share their experiences and faith. Learn about Christianity, read the Bible, and make friends.

Jewish Student Union

The Jewish Student Union of Richard Montgomery aims to entertain and teach members about the rich intricacies and variance of Jewish culture. We highly encourage both Jewish students and non-Jewish student to attend. We do fun activities that relate to lessons we learn through Judaism! 

This club is open to everyone in the school (you do not have to be Jewish to attend meetings), we collaborate on fun activities that relate to Jewish holidays/festivities, and we always create a fun, open environment for our members!

The RM Japanese Club is a club for members of all backgrounds who are all looking for an opportunity to learn Japanese culture and language in a fun, chill environment. Middle Eastern North African Arab Club (MENA)

First, Ahlan wa sahlan (welcome) to the Mena Club! We try to meet every other Wednesday to share the awesome stuff about Middle Eastern, North African, and Arab cultures. Sometimes we chat about what's happening in the Arab world, other times we learn Arabic and how to write our names In Arabic. 

We also try to educate others about the diversity of that region such as the diversity of religions and ethnic diversity as well, such as Arabs, Kurds, Persians, Turks, Berbers, and many others and the same thing applies to religions. Also, we’ll educate students about each country in the region. And there's ALWAYS yummy food/snacks and cool music.

It's a super chill way to hang out, meet new people, listen to Arabic music, and explore different cultures within the Middle East and North Africa. Whether you're an Arab/North African or new to this, everyone's invited to join us and learn something new. So, come on over, and let's have a great Wednesday together!

Muslim Student Association 

Muslim Student Association (MSA) is a religious club dedicated to establishing and maintaining Islamic societies in Montgomery County and RMHS. Our club annually participates in the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament (MIST). In our regular meetings, we recite Quran as a group (also known as a quran circle), hold group discussions, and listen to seminars on Islamic topics.

Myth Club

Do names like Hercules, Thor, and Ra ring a bell? How about Amaterasu, Enkidu, or Anansi? Are you a fan of Rick Riordan’s works? Then join Myth Club, where we’ll hold presentations about the trials and tribulations of several gods, heroes, and monsters from all over the world. We’ll talk about common themes across myth systems, the influence of myth on pop culture, the line between myth and religion, and how stories change through the passage of time.

National French Honor Society

La Société Honoraire de Français aims to promote interest in the study of French and encourage enthusiasm in French culture. Members will have the opportunity to develop their French skills as well as their understanding of French culture through activities such as: National French Week, Le Grand Concours (the National French Contest), and tutoring other French students. We are often found eating Francophone food, watching francophone movies, participating in le Grand Concours.

National Spanish Honor Society

The Spanish National Honors Society is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish to recognize achievement in Spanish. The Spanish club is an open access club for all students to engage in Spanish language and culture. 

We offer opportunities for students to volunteer with Latinx community partners, host bimonthly Spanish-language discussions, and organize monthly cultural events like movie nights.

Tea Club

In this club, we will sample different types of teas from cultures all across the world, ranging from the salty Tibetan butter tea to the sweet Taiwanese bubble tea. In addition to tasting the teas, we will research the ceremonies and culture surrounding the teas and it's origins. 

We will focus on tea tasting, learning about tea culture, learning about the history and mythology of tea, and more fun stuff.

RMHS Little Manilatown

RMHS Little Manilatown is a great place to learn more about Filipino culture in RM. There will be days when we do presentations on Philippine history and discuss important historical  figures such as Jose Rizal and Tandang Sora. There will also be days when we learn about mystical aspects of Filipino culture such as folklore and superstitions.

We will have fun making Filipino poetry, reading classic literature, singing songs, and more.

RMHS Little Manilatown is also a place for Filipino students to meet and speak in Filipino (Tagalog and Bisaya).

The idea of RMHS Little Manilatown was originally born out of the club founder's desire to have a haven where he can meet other Filipinos and converse with them in their native tongue as well as his desire to help American born Filipinos improve their proficiency in Tagalog.

RMHS Little Manilatown is a place to learn about and discuss Filipino History.

In RMHS Little Manilatown, we will have fun writing Filipino poetry, reading classic literature, singing songs, and more.

Southeast Asian Club

Our club is a community building organization that represents the people of Southeast Asia. Anyone is welcome to join this club to learn more about what our culture holds, and how we connect to each other as a community. This clubs concludes of SSL opportunities to help present the culture of Southeast Asians.
