Sponsor Information
My students would like to host an event/fundraiser
Please refer to the Churchill Business page for procedures and policies to request an event/fundraiser. Teachers must submit this form on behalf of the students.
Collecting Money
This year, MCPS mandated the collection of all money through School Cash Online (SCO). Any time money is collected, it must be approved in writing first (either through an approved budget or fundraiser/event/field trip request). Once approved, please see Ms. Canagarajah to complete the form to have your “item” (dues, field trip, etc) added to our SCO portfolio. Although highly discouraged, cash and checks can still be collected by sponsor and remitted to the business office. Money will be received to SCO and receipted by Ms. Canagarajah. However, the service fees are still charged.
Sponsors must submit event/fundraiser request form to the Business Administrator. The sponsor is required to be at the event if money is being collected.
Guest Speakers
Please follow the guidance provided on the following webpage.
Guest speakers are one-time volunteers. One time volunteers who will never be alone with students will:
Check-in and check-out of the main office
and
Scan their driver's license/identification cards through the Visitor Management System (VMS)
Once the volunteer clears the VMS, they must be badged (the VMS creates a sticker badge) and remain under supervision of an MCPS professional while with students.
Should a guest speaker participate through the MCPS Zoom platform and will never be alone with students, the staff hosting them can invite the guest to their Zoom meeting after adding the “authentication exception.” Directions on how to do this can be found on the School Guidance for MCPS Volunteers document.
An MCPS staff member should accompany guest speakers at all times.
Posters
Posters must be approved by an administrator/ECA director before posting around the school. Posters must also be posted in designated BLUE AREAS around the school. Posters not approved will be taken down.
Social Media Presence
Developing an Instagram and/or Twitter account for your organization can further engage your students and keep them engaged throughout the year. Social media accounts should be consistently monitored by the sponsor.
