Churchill Advocacy Club
The Student's Rights and Responsibilities Club aspires to educate students on school and county wide policies/regulations that impact their rights and responsibilities. We hope to focus on covering expectations for student conduct, updates from the Maryland State Department of Education, and issues regarding discrimination, stigmatization, and bullying that occur a school and county wide basis. The club is looking for creative, advocacy-driven young leaders who would like to help in creating posters, organizing letter-writing campaigns, and hosting school events!

MoCo4Change x WCHS
Moco4Change is a pre-existing organization led by Montgomery County students working to solve the most pressing issues of our time. It has been around since 2018. Some of these include getting public attention about social injustices like climate change, gender inequality, helping seniors get registered to vote, and gun control. They have a variety of schools in MCPS with smaller branches within their school. This club would be the Churchill branch. This would be a club designed to foster leadership and advocacy skills through learning all about social justice in different applications. Monthly meetings will have different themed discussions. Some ideas for later on include potential fundraisers, workshops, and public speakers to add engagement to the club.

The TEDxYouth@WCHS conference happened last November and is continuing this year! Talks vary in subject – music, science, biodiversity, industrial design, and food! Refer to the form below for requirements. There should be no political, pseudoscience or religious talks presented from the TEDx stage, and talks are 18 minutes or less. Think Big is an entrepreneurial club that encourages curiosity and inspires creativity amongst students through innovative ideas and projects such as our TEDxYouth@WCHS conference! Our goal is to foster the spread of new, creative ideas and to stimulate innovation through amplifying our student voices.

New description: TEDx Club encourages curiosity and inspires creativity amongst students through innovative ideas and projects such as our annual TEDx conference, happening on October 25, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm this year. We have two opportunities to get involved: speakers who give TED-like talks at the conference
and club members who help speakers develop their talks and meet monthly AFTER the conference to discuss TED talks and learn public speaking skills. Applications to become a speaker have closed for this year, but we club member applications are open all year.Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13r_h7zNptv0zOHNPbb9MTCbzWjSyVtF6/view?usp=sharing

Youth and Government
Youth and Government is a mock government club where students have the opportunity to roleplay, legislate bills, debate, and lobby their visions for the future. Students are in a community of like-minded individuals, all engaged in hands-on democracy.
