3D Design Club

The 3D Design Club strives to spread interest for 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and allows interested students the opportunity to learn how to design and manufacture their designs. Members will be given the chance to participate in various projects throughout the year that will help build and practice design skills. Members will be able to design using Onshape, along with various other softwares (Fusion 360, Cura, etc.). Member-made designs can be manufactured (using 3D printer, resin printer, etc.), also allowing members to learn how to prepare and operate various manufacturing machines.

Aeronautical Science Club

Within the Aeronautical Science Club, We’ll engage on topics surrounding the aviation industry. Such as engine production/information, historic crashes that modernized our technology in aviation, historical aviation information, common rules pilots and ATC have to comply with, basic communication, and so much more! The club leaders are aspiring aerospace/aeronautical professionals.

Anatomy and Physiology Club

The Anatomy and Physiology Club aims to educate members on human anatomy and physiology through student-led lessons and hands-on activities. At each meeting, members will learn about the different anatomical structures of the body and their functions. Additionally, members will participate in various labs to further expand on their existing biology knowledge, and will also be provided with access to various medical opportunities.

Architecture Club

In the Architecture Club, members work together to complete a project to submit to the ACE CIRT Design Competition. We are given multiple prompts to choose one from and to design a piece of architecture to fulfill that prompt. We also have the opportunity to participate in other fun activities like a National Gingerbread House-Building Competition and a Bridge-Building Competition.

The Churchill Biology Club is a well-established community of students with an interest or passion for biology regardless of age or experience. Competitive Coding Club

Churchill Competitive Coding Club introduces students to algorithms and other concepts related to competitive programming. At each meeting, members will spend time learning topics and solving coding problems individually and as a team. Members can also prepare and participate in coding contests such as the United States of America Computing Olympiad (USACO) and the American Computer Science League (ACSL). Beginners are welcome!

Churchill For Climate

Churchill for Climate will work towards raising awareness for climate change and helping students reduce their harmful effects on the earth. This club is for anyone that wants to contribute and do their share in saving the earth during the ongoing environmental crisis. Everyone is welcome! A couple of things that we will be doing are (1) raising awareness (2) raising money for organizations (3) and promoting activism. Reducing the effects of climate change is a global effort. Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is a reputable non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in STEM fields. You do not have to identify as a girl to join! We will be teaching programming in languages like Python, code fun games, and create projects. All coding levels are welcome, as we will have several coding lessons being taught throughout the year. There will also be opportunities to participate in coding events and competitions.

The Global Health and Biotechnology Club is aimed to educate students that are interested in global/public health, virology, and biotech. Machine Learning and Data Analytics Club

The main objective of the club to inform students about the rapidly-developing field of computer science, in particular the applications of machine learning and data analysis in artificial intelligence, laboratory research, finance, and various other fields. We hope to accomplish this through various information sessions conducted by both student and guest speakers who are knowledgeable in specific aspects. My Own Climate Change

The My Own Climate Change (MOCC) Club’s mission is to help kids and adults better understand how Climate Change will affect them personally. If we all “Think Global and Think Local” when it comes to Climate Change, then people will take actions to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. MOCC Club will do this through both education and advocacy. MOCC Club plans to either help prepare a virtual educational conference or present a formal MOCC session at the MCPS Youth Climate Summit. MOCC Club will also meet with local and State representatives to ask them to support efforts to reduce and mitigate Greenhouse Gas emissions wherever possible. MOCC Club will have guest speakers at some meetings.

Churchill STEM Club gets students interested in STEM. Anyone can come hang out, learn new skills, build projects, and work together. Topics we're hoping to cover include: computer programming, robotics (through the FTC robotics competition), web design, and cybersecurity. We have member-driven projects like games, apps, and websites. We're also planning on doing FTC, a robotics competition where teams design, build and code a robot, hackathons (where teams create programming projects with limited time and compete in several categories), CTFs (cybersecurity competitions), and others!
