MCPASD carries long term disability insurance through Madison National Life Insurance Company. Coverage is provided on the employee only.
Regular (not temporary) employees are eligible for long term disability insurance if they
Are currently expected to work 30 hours per week or more
There is no enrollment form required for coverage.
Participation on LTD is automatic and is paid 100% by MCPASD.
Coverage begins as of first date of employment or eligibility.
Provides benefit at a rate of 90% of pre-disability annual regular earnings following 60 calendar days of total disability. LTD benefits do not include additives, overloads or extended contracts.

Maximum Annual Covered Salary $230,000
Maximum Monthly Benefit $17,500
Certificate - Teachers / Support Staff
Maximum Annual Covered Salary $135,000
Maximum Monthly Benefit $9,375
It is important to notify a Benefits Specialist if you believe you will qualify for long term disability benefits due to an extended illness or condition.
A claim should be initiated within 30 days of the date the Elimination Period ends, if that is possible. The claim packet is in 3 parts.
