You Can Make a Difference!

Mental health in general is stigmatized, but in athletics it is even more stigmatized. You are an athlete and you are expected to perform under tremendous amounts of pressure and show no weakness at all. You are expected to make 0 mistakes and let nothing get to you. This is unrealistic! Mental health should be discussed more in athletics! I cannot say this enough. If you are reading this,  that means that mental health means something to you in some sort of way. And if you are an athlete and this topic is not prioritized in your athletic environment, go to your coaches. Ask them their thoughts. What do they think about mental health? Tell them how important it is in sports and how it can make a huge impact on performance and well-being. It can literally make you a better athlete! If you are taking care of your physical and mental health, you will be able to overcome and adapt to certain stressors more easily.

So the point is, ask for it to be prioritized!
