Balance is Bullsh*t!

If you try to balance every single thing going on in your life giving each equal weight, then each aspect is only going to receive a small percentage of your effort. 

So let's say you are trying to balance performing well in your sport, keeping your grades up, taking care of your mental health, and exercising consistently. Those 4 tasks are only going to receive 25% of your effort if you are trying to balance them all at once. And I know that we all are going to have so much more than 4 things we are focusing on at a time so the percentage just gets lower and lower.

Change your perspective and give 100% of your effort to one thing at a time. Be intentional with that time and dedicate it to the task at hand. 

Think of your mind like your phone. When your phone has all these apps open and running in the background, it runs slower and doesn't complete tasks as efficiently. When you "swipe up" and only focus on one task at a time, things will run smoother and more effectively. 

In today’s society, humans are expected to balance all the things going on in their lives. We are expected to juggle a million things, without dropping one or slacking in one area. Give yourself permission to focus on one thing at a time. Imagine how more effective and productive you would be if you quit trying to balance everything and put all your attention on 1 single thing. You would be able to give 100% of your effort to self care, 100% of your effort to performance, and so on.
