Relationship with Coach

Toward the end of my college athletic experience, my coach was a huge part of my support system. She was able to be vulnerable herself and move past this hierarchy of "coach and athlete" and come to my level and meet me where I was. 

When an athlete goes off to college and leaves their home, their coach can serve as a parental mentor figure. This is a very important and vital role that coaches can play and they are now a crucial part of that athletes support system just based on physical availability and proximity.
