1Willow     Learning Update

Central idea: The weather may affect how people live. 

This week we have been focusing on our new research project on the four different climate zones. The children have been researching a climate zone of their choice and have started to put together a project board for a lovely display in a few weeks. We have also started learning about droughts through our core text of 'Lila and the Secret of Rain'. 

In writing, we have learnt about questioning and used this new skill to ask Lila, the character from our core text, some questions. 

In maths, we have been learning about doubles and near doubles. The children have been working physically with this using numicon as well as ten frames. 

Please remember to send your child to school with a water bottle and make sure that all belongings are labelled.
