Oak        Learning Update

Central idea: Our likes and dislikes make us who we are.

Welcome to Team Oak!

We've had a fantastic first week together building friendships, exploring the school environment and getting used to classroom routines. Miss Cordner, Miss Dean and I have been blown away with how well the children have settled in and responded to their new learning environment.

This week we have used the story 'The lion and the bird' as a stimulus for learning. In the text the lion finds an injured bird which he nurses back to health. Along the way, a strong friendship is formed while gardening, cooking and playing.

The children in Team Oak have especially enjoyed planting seeds and watching the seeds grow and also exploring and observing nature outside. As new friends, we have seen children help each other to make their way through our wooded areas.

Leonard said "Come on, I'll help you. Watch me."

Many children have also enjoyed drawing and mark making this week. Fliss and Archer both told us how much they love to paint and draw while sketching lion from the story.

Reminders:

Next week, the children in the Early Years will stay for lunch so pick up will be at 1pm all week.

Please ensure all children have a water bottle everyday.
