Central idea: Sustainable Goal 13: Climate Action

This week, we have been investigating climate, climate change, the reasons behind climate change and the actions we can take to counter climate change. The class have learned about the different climate zones across the world, such as tropical climates and polar climates, and discussed the impact rising temperatures can have on these places. We also investigated different sources of energy, what fossil fuels are, and the alternatives we could use instead, such as solar, wind, and wave power. We talked about what we can do in our daily lives, such as recycling, planting trees and spreading awareness.

In addition to our project, we have been studying the causes and impact of wildfires across the globe. The children produced some fantastic pieces of art, using paint to produce a fiery background and then using paper and card to create a collage.

P.E. will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays - please ensure your children have the correct kit on these days. A big thank you to the whole class for such a positive first week - it has been fantastic!
