1Willow Learning Update

Central idea: People have a responsibility to understand how to look after living things (plants)

The children in Willow class have been very busy planting beans, growing strawberries and experimenting with Impatients. They have watched the impact that sunlight and water has on a plant and equally what a plant with no water and sunlight would do. The children have observed closely, hypothesised and written down their findings.

The children have planted broad beans in cotton wool, we have had the opportunity to see the germination stage as well as the plants developing roots and shooting up growing leaves.

After looking closely at a variety of plants, trees and leaves the children chose to sketch in the style of Andy Goldworthy.

Please remember to bring a hat and a bottle for water everyday as it is now very hot!
