1Spruce Learning Update

Central idea:  Learning about history can help me to understand the present.

We started off with a wonderful time having our mums in class with us for a great time together, which was lovely to see. Over the course of the week we have spent a lot of time using our DT skills. We have designed a piece of clothing from the past that could fit a small doll or toy. We have been inspired by the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Ancient Egypt. We demonstrated our cutting skills by cutting our template first and then using it to cut our fabric. Next, we will be joining the fabric together to finish the project. This week we have continued with our story of 'Lost in the Toy Museum' and the children have produced some wonderful writing. In art, we took some time to learn about weaving. The children produced beautiful pieces of work after learning about the skill.
