The SCT's Mini World Cup

On Wednesday, a team of year 5 and 6 boys represented South Korea at the Mini World Cup where 36 schools competed for the trophy, held at the Gallagher Stadium. They kicked off their first match against Australia, Ken's excellent defense in goal secured us a draw. After a couple of hard matches, the boys pulled together to see both Lewis and Rowan score some almighty goals, and go on to win against Ghana.

Despite some challenges, their determination and excellent sportsmanship shone through, coming fifth in their group overall. Considering this was their first time playing as a team, they supported each other incredibly well and played with the true Marden spirit. Not only did they support one another, they cheered on everyone else too! Well done boys, you have done us all proud.

Kent Teach Hockey Tournament

Last week, a team of Year 5 and 6 pupils attended a hockey tournament at the Maidstone Hockey Club competing against many other schools - our first tournament of the year! They won all three of the matches in their pool, taking them into the quarter-final where they won 2-0. Despite their best efforts, they lost against Hunton in the semi-final. Overall, taking home fourth place out of sixteen schools; their determination and teamwork skills were a real credit to the school. A special mention to Aeris, who took home player of the match, well done.
