This week the children have continued adding and subtracting 10s across 100. The children enjoyed exploring this practically and the applying it pictorially in their books. They were great at explaining why and how we exchange. In guided reading we

In inquiry we started the week by writing a set of instructions based on our smoothie making. The children used the Chromebooks and a checklist to peer assess each others work, ensuring they understand how to correct and edit their work. Then we focused on 'choice vs responsibility.' We looked into different jobs and their importance. The children loved looking at different roles within Marden, they particularly enjoyed the diamond 9 activity that led us to debating who has the most responsibility at Marden. It was lovely to see the children debating their ideas and challenging each other.

In science we have started looking at the skeletal system and how muscles work. We started making models to demonstrate this, in preparation for a writing piece.
