Principal's Message

This week we held a harvest assembly where the children in Key Stage 1 shared their poems and collectively sang to appreciate the harvested crops of autumn. We have a rich history in this village for our apples and other agriculture. Celebrating this whilst giving back to the community is integral. I thank you for your generosity in your donations and Reverand Nicky was also very appreciative of the support this will have for a number of vulnerable families.

I was incredibly proud of our hockey team, compiled of Year 5 and 6 pupils, as they came 4th place out of 16 competing schools in Maidstone. We want to continue our commitment to developing our sports offer at Marden and I know that Mr Moore, our Sports Coach, is already booking sports events and other competitions for the year ahead.

I am looking forward to the week ahead with our Mini World Cup and 4Chestnut's Wellbeing and Healthy Eating Day!

Harvest Festival

On Thursday, EYFS and KS1 were joined by Reverend Nicky to celebrate harvest. The children sang harvest songs and had great fun with some harvest poems! We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who kindly donated towards our collection for the food bank. This will go towards supporting some of our most vulnerable families.

National Online Safety

Roblox is one of the most popular video games on the market. By 2020, the game’s makers were claiming that more than half of children in the USA play it. As a ‘sandbox’ title, Roblox offers a huge amount of creative freedom: it lets players create their own gaming experiences with the Roblox Studio to build custom levels and games, which can then be shared with other players online. Roblox fosters creative thinking and enjoys a robust online community of fans.

In the guide, you'll find tips on a number of potential risks such as online daters, in-app purchases and contact with strangers.
