Juniper Learning Update

Central idea:

After exploring the children's unique talents, Juniper class discussed our family members talents. Chloe told the class how good her mum was at cooking - especially scrambled eggs! Lots of children told us their favourite way to eat eggs, some with toast and beans too. As a class we helped to cook our own scrambled egg on toast with beans. Miss Williams helpfully mixed the eggs, as they began to scramble, Lucy described what she could see as "bubbly and white".

The children used their mathematical vocabulary to compare size, weight and capacity. Archie told us how "the smallest bear should have the smallest spoon". Using balance scales and play dough the children made different sized balls, Oliver made a ball telling me "mine is the biggest" while comparing it to Chloe's smaller sized ball. Jamie told his friend Finn "mine is heavier than yours", I asked "how do you know this, Jamie?" to which he responded "mine is lower down than Finn's so it is heavier". What great thinkers, using their mathematical vocabulary in their child initiated learning.

The early years children attended their first ever assembly and sat beautifully throughout, listening to a wonderful harvest poem read by the Year 2 children.

I wish you all restful weekend!
