Over 12% of Indian children aged 2 to 9 years have neurodevelopmental disorders.
Girls with disabilities are more vulnerable and parents choose the easiest option to ensure their safety – they do not enrol them in school.

Initially, the SHUCHITA project is for inclusive skill development for women with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (WIDD) with a minimum of 10 stakeholders towards the quality of life (QoL) and independent living (IL) as a pilot project.
SHUCHITA scholarship grants for women with disabilities, which grants may be used exclusively for tuition at technical educational institutions that normally maintain a regular faculty and curriculum for fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses at such institutions, or for room and board expenses. Scholarship grants will usually be administered through SHUCHITA Scholarship Funds of the Manovikas.
