Texas During the Great Depression and World War II

1929-1950

The advancement of the industrial complexity of Texas and other states, led to great prosperity after the turn of the century. The 1920's roared and people lived well outside of their means. But after the Stock Market Crash in 1929, gloom sat on the horizon for nearly two decades as The Great Depression, the Dust Bowl and World War II, left many Americans disillusioned and with little hope that life would return to a more prosperous time.
