Unrest and Revolt in Texas

1821-1836

The ever-growing number of Anglos in the Mexican state of Coahuila y Tejas would soon prove to be a major issue for the Mexican government. Texas was far from the capital of Mexico, and keeping an eye on the Anglos was difficult. Mier y Teran's report revealed that the "Americans" were not fulfilling all aspects of the agreements that came with settlement. This would ultimately lead to the Anglos of Texas wanting their own statehood, but eventually and more importantly to most Anglos, a separation from Mexico and admittance into their "home" country, the United States.
