During the month of June, people all over the world celebrate LGBTQ+ history and pride. Here at LBS, we are choosing to celebrate Pride Month by looking at our top books for teenagers that focus on LGBTQ+ topics.
All ten are available in the library for students to check out, so you can get reading.
Felix Ever After tells the story of Felix Love, a Black transgender boy looking for love. Equal parts funny and sad, Felix's journey is complicated by transphobic cyber-bullying and an unexpected love triangle.
Dive into Six of Crows to read about criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker who is trying to pull off an incredible heist with a team of enemies-come-friends. This book also forms a thrilling part of the LBS 150 competition.
Ciara Smyth brings us a story of the relationship between Saoirse and Ruby. Saoirse is not looking for love, but ends up falling for Ruby in this wonderful coming-of-age novel.

Clap When You Land is an incredible book written in poetic verse, discussing the story of Camino and Yahaira Rios, whose father has died in a plane crash. A beautifully written story on loss, love and family.
In the graphic novel Pumpkin Heads, we discover the story of two friends Deja and Josiah who work together every October at a local pumpkin patch. Deja is trying to set Josiah up with his crush and lots of hi-jinks ensue. An adorable read, especially perfect for over Halloween and into Autumn.
Written as a verse novel (like Clap When You Land) in The Black Flamingo, we meet Michael. He's a gay teen who's coming to terms with his identity and finding his feet at university as a drag artist: The Black Flamingo. An empowering story celebrating the power of our individuality. This book also forms part of the LBS 150 competition.
In This Book is Gay, Juno Dawson takes us on a non-fiction journey through what it's like being a LGBTQ+ teen. The books answers our most-asked questions and includes real-life stories for you to read that are both entertaining and educational.
