Emergency Procedures and safety drills*

Crisis Response Plan

The Loomis Union School District has a crisis response plan in place at each of its schools which specifies actions to be taken for the following emergency situations: explosion or threat of explosion, earthquake, severe windstorm, flood, fire, war, evacuation, bomb threats, intruders, and chemical accidents. During an emergency, children will be dismissed to go home by a site or district administrator only if there is time to return students safely to their homes and parents can be notified. Students of parents who are not contacted will remain in the care of school personnel.

Student Safety Drills

In accordance with state law, safety drills will be conducted regularly during the school year. Students are expected to respond quickly and safely as directed by school personnel. Parents on campus during a safety drill should remain with their child’s class until the conclusion of the drill, or should follow the recommendations of staff.
