Throughout the year, the School Counseling department offers multiple in-school and after-school programs and events for families. These range from scheduling meetings, to college admission preparation, to Junior and Senior year timelines.

Important Dates & Timelines
Friday, September 13th - 12th Grade: Senior Mentor Interview Day
Basic schedule is as follows:
7:00 - 7:25 a.m. - Breakfast foods will be available in the cafeteria. Report to Forum for attendance by 7:25.
7:35 a.m. - Senior Panoramic Picture
7:55 - 8:55 a.m. - Class Meetings (college admission process; senior events)
9:00, 9:30, 10:00 a.m. - Interview times. While not interviewing, students will participate in other activities
10:25 a.m. - Report to Period 1
September-November - 12th Grade: College Visits
College representatives will be holding visits either in person or virtually. Please view the visit list on Naviance and check the College & Career Google Classroom for dates and times.
Wednesday, October 16th - 9th through 11th Grade: PSAT / NMSQT
TBD - 9th through 11th Grade Families: College Readiness & Programming Night

December 2024 - 11th Grade: Junior Seminars
Juniors will meet in small groups with the counselors. They will receive copies of their transcripts as well as direction on beginning the formal college research process / updating their Naviance accounts. Students should bring their Chromebooks (fully charged).
January - February 2025 - 11th Grade: 1:1 Junior Conferences
Optional meeting for student and parents / guardians to meet with their school counselor to ask more specific questions about the college admission process. Invitations will be mailed home in December with directions on how to schedule an appointment time.

May 2025 - 11th Grade: Graduation Project Part A / Summer College Checklist
As juniors conclude their year, they will receive the details of Graduation Project Part A. This project encompasses two written portions (resume and college or vocational essay), which are to be completed by the end of the summer, as well as an interview, which will take place mid-September. Each junior will be assigned to a faculty member or administrator to serve as their mentor through this experience. They will also be given a summer checklist for the college application process.
