Community Volunteering Resources
Volunteering is a great way to get involved and give back to the Huntingdon Valley community. Volunteering has many benefits! You can gain skills for future careers, help others in need, meet new friends, network with local business, and gain new knowledge and experience. It can also help you realize a career path or major, and you can gain real-life experience in areas of interest for you.
One great website for finding volunteer opportunities is Volunteer Match. It helps align you with potential volunteer sites based on your location, age, and interest areas: https://www.volunteermatch.org/
Certain clubs within our school offer service projects, such as the Interact Club (see Ms. Quinn) or the National Honor Society if you are selected to join.
Many of our students volunteer at Abington Hospital and the Huntingdon Valley Library. Follow these links for more information:
Also with Huntingdon Valley Library: Serve on the Teen Advisory Board! This is a great way for students to earn their volunteer hours. This group of teen advisors meets one Friday afternoon a month to help brainstorm ideas for programs, prepare for events, and work on projects to improve the library.
