"PYPx was really interesting. I will say the hardest thing about PYPx is finding your topic. My topic was Cyberbullying. Why you might ask? Well, I got bullied only once and I really wanted to talk about it so people can hear my story. So basically you need to find a topic that you can relate to, but beside that I learned to talk to people and to get out of my comfort zone. Presenting (talk to other year levels and teachers) definitely helped me learn new skills" - Chancellor (PYPx 2021)
"Before the exhibition I was nervous because I still didn’t know who I was going to present to and if the exhibition was going to be online or with our audience coming to the library like usual. I felt a bit uncomfortable because I am normally a confident person and being nervous made me feel insecure. But being honest the presentation day turned out better than I could have imagined. Best advice if you are nervous about presenting your exhibition is it’s very cool, quick and barely an inconvenience.( It’s literally all you have learned and the best thing is that you can choose your topic. Remember you will never be alone)" - Deoclesio (PYPx 2021)
"The exhibition was challenging because it was my first virtual personal project, and sometimes I really enjoyed because I learn many things about my topic." - Kety (PYPx 2021)
"Before exhibition i was really nervous but confident about my topic but what worried me the most was that we would have to present online, I would always check the sign up sheet to see who wanted to go to my presentation I would always get this anxiety because imagine nobody wanted to come see me what if my topic is not good what if they hate it the day of the presentation I was nervous but when i started to talk about my topic women's rights the reaction was great and the feedback i got was pretty good I enjoyed what they said. They asked how I did it and how my progress was. I enjoyed all the feedback and I can guarantee you will love the feeling of the presentation. Try not to get nervous, get calmed and work the best you can." - Runa (PYPx 2021)
"During the exhibition I learned to develop my independent researching skills and became better at finding sources for information. I also got different perspectives on my matter by talking to professionals on my topic, making me understand more things I didn't have a clue of before" - Raissa (PYPx 2021)
"The exhibition was a fun, but very stressful experience. With all the research, self-management, the mentors and doing all this stuff on my own was a very new and very challenging experience for me, but I pulled through. One piece of advice I will give to you is that you need to stay on task and make a plan of what you need to do that day, then have a backup plan if things take too long. Please, please, PLEASE don't procrastinate. All it will do is mess you up and mess up your schedule. If you can't focus, take a short brain break like a quiet walk and just focus on your breathing. When you are presenting don't be afraid, people came to hear your ideas so speak up! This is what you have been working on for some time so make sure to present with passion as well. For your action, which is the final and bigger parts of this project, it has to be manageable. If it is too big then you won't follow through with it and waste a bunch of time. I speak from experience. In short, all you have to do is keep organized and you and your project will be ok. I wish you all the best of luck! - Zoë (PYPx 2019)
"Exhibition is a ton of fun and also a way to find new friends because there could be someone in your year level that might a similar topic and you could share some of the different information you gathered from you research, at the beginning of the exhibition (probably as every single one in the year) I was really scared only of the simple idea that passed on my mind because I thought that my english was trash and I wouldn't be able to reach a single one of my goals, but when I reached the last days, just a little earlier, I had already practiced a little bit with my friends, I knew I was ready to go for it, It was really fun and interesting to research on a topic I picked my own." - Pietro (PYPx 2019)
"I loved the whole experience mainly because it was like I was building/designing something new. Not only did I learn new things, I developped important skills at the same time." - Andrew (PYPx 2018)
"Looking back at the process of Exhibition and reflecting upon my process journal, I feel like I was stressed a bit but I also felt good. I think that even with all the mistakes I made, I worked hard to figure them out. Also, looking at what I learned, I feel amazing." - Esther (PYPx 2018)
"Exhibition was really challenging because it was my first independent project in the school. However, I was really proud of myself by the end of it all." - Julia (PYPx 2018)
"During exhibition we were all put through stressful situations with many deadlines and time limits. But during these situations we learnt many things. We were taught many skills that will surely benefit us in our later years. We also improved our ability to handle pressuring situations, manage time and improve our organization and research skills. I found the process very fun and enjoyable as well as an amazing learning experience. All the mistakes that I made helped me learn in so many ways. It was definitely worth it." - Sonia (PYPx 2018)
"It was kind of challenging but in the end you just have to plan and work hard but in my experience it was okay though a little bit difficult." - David (PYPx 2018)
"Our PYPx involved a great deal of thought especially for the research stage/phase. Once you reach the end you will feel great about the effort and time you put into it to get your final outcome. Even though it was challenging it was still a lot of fun!" - Adam (PYPx 2018)
