Essential responsibilities:
Allow your child to have voice, choice and ownership throughout the Exhibition process.
Emphasise with your child that the focus is the process rather than the product.
Be available to discuss the exhibition process with your child each week.
Be supportive, encouraging, and provide positive feedback to your child throughout the process.
Help guide and monitor your child in their setting/accomplishment of specific tasks/weekly goals.
Attend the two Present, Connect, Reflect sessions on Zoom during the Exhibition process.
Offer your expertise in areas that may support your child or other students in Year 6 during the process.
Weekly support focus topics may include (to be communicated weekly on the exhibition website):
Suggest primary sources (in English or your home language), help interpret difficult information, guide your child to facilitate interviews or Zoom/telephone calls/emails.
Support your child with developing their organisational skills, in particular, organising and filing relevant documentation, as needed.
Be responsible for some aspects of ongoing assessments – provide opportunities for your child to reflect on their knowledge, understanding, approaches to learning (skills) and attributes of the learner profile in their Exhibition journal.
Communicate your child’s successes and/or concerns to Year 6 teachers in a timely manner so they can follow up with the student.
