The Freedom Tower is 1776 feet high and this number is very meaningful because it symbolizes the year of the United States Declaration of Independence.
The tower is the highest building in the United States thanks to its antenna, that is 124 meters high, so it makes this building higher than the Sears Tower in Chicago, that without including the antennas would overcome the One World Trade Center.
One of the main aspects of the skyscraper is respect for environmental sustainability, in fact it integrates the use of energy from renewable sources, the rainwater is collected and reused, and some of the previous debris was recycled during the reconstruction.
The square base of the One World Trade Center is the same size as those of the Twin Towers (61mX61m).
In October 2001, after the terrorist attacks, a tree was found alive in the Ground Zero area. Although it was severely damaged, after it received the necessary care, in 2010 it was replanted in the Memorial park and it’s called the “Survivor Tree” because it’s a symbol of survival and rebirth.
