Me and the girls football team all had such an amazing time at the London Youth Games representing Sutton Borough. Our experience starts on the minibus where we all had a sing a long! When we got to the tournament we started to train and to prepare ourselves for the adventure that awaits. We started our first match and it was so much fun. We had the opportunity to play in different positions in different games. We won the first match with Ruby and Elyse scoring AMAZING goals for our team!
The second game was also very, very fun. We were up against a really good team and it was very challenging but we managed to end the game with a draw. We were all shocked by this result since the team we were up against were so close to scoring many goals but our amazing goalkeeper Harley saved them! In the 3rd match we got another miraculous victory with Bonnie scoring a hatrick- 3 goals!!!
Overall, we won three games, drew three and only lost one. Sadly we just missed a place in the semi-finals, coming third place in a large group of London schools. It was such an amazing experience and all of the year 6’s are sad that we won’t be doing it again.

Riva and Ella were part of the team that won the qualifying tournament that got the team through to the London Youth Games. The team missed them both as they missed the game whilst they were recovering from being unwell.
Well done to the Year 3 girls football team who came 2nd in the LEO tournament and are through to the finals day which will be played on Wednesday 22nd May.
A big well done to the basketball team who achieved 4th place in the second round of the Dragon’s basketball competition.
Some of our KS1 children enjoyed taking part in the Easter run today. They were very active with other schools from around the borough.
