Welcome to the Summer Term! 

This week in Year 1 the children have started to learn about multiplication. We have been counting in 2's, 5's and 10's and have been making equal groups. In English we have started our poetry writing journey. We have  learnt and put actions to 'The Nut Tree' by Julia Donaldson and then performed it. In art we have been looking at flora and fauna themed paintings  and recreated our favourite one in our sketch books. In history we have begun to think about explorers from living memory and from beyond living memory. Our science unit of work this term is 'Plants'. We set up a science experiment this week to investigate if plants need water. We planted some beans on dry paper towels and some on wet paper towels to see what happens.
