In Year 4 this week we have started lots of new, exciting topics. In maths, we have been looking at measurement, exploring length and weight. We have been estimating, measuring and converting. In English, we have started our new book, 'The Firework Maker's daughter', by Phillip Pullman. We have been focusing on a character description of Chulak, the cheeky elephant servant. In Science we have been looking at the digestive system and did a particularly revolting experiment with weetabix and juice to demonstrate the journey of food through the human body. We started a new study in humanities on the Vikings and were looking at the timeline of the important events in their history. In Art we have started looking at artists who have been inspired by food in their art and we drew some visual notes on what we enjoyed about their work. We thoroughly enjoyed a cricket taster session from 'Shine Cricket'!
