In year 2, we have been learning:

Maths - we have been recapping time and looking at learning o'clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to.

Writing - we have been learning the features of riddles before writing our  own about plants. Finally we will edit and uplevel our work.

History - in our new topic, the children will be looking at what a monarch is and what their main jobs are.

Science - in our new topic, the children will be planting seeds and putting them in different conditions to see how it affects their growth.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:

Maths - the children will learn to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes and use this to work out the duration of events.

Writing - we will learn the features of instructions before writing our own and then editing and uplevelling our work.

History - in our topic, What is a monarch?, the children will look at who our monarch is.

Science - we will be studying our plants and seeing which have grown the most and thinking about why some have grown a lot and others less so.
