BC Tech is proud to provide grants to students who have a proven passion for technology, a desire to leave a mark in the tech sector and are pursuing a post-secondary education in a technology-related program.
2026 Grant Amounts
Up to 3 x $3,500 for current university and college students
Up to 3 x $2,500 for grade 12 graduates entering post-secondary
The Spirit of BC Tech Scholarship fund provides additional bursaries of $1000 to qualifying post-secondary and grade 12 students who best exemplify the values of BC’s tech sector.

Due Date: April 4th @ midnight
Applicants must be newcomers to Canada who arrived no more than five years before the application deadline (i.e. applicants for the October 31 2023 deadline must have arrived in Canada after October 30 2018). Applicants must be students registered in high school or post-secondary (college or university) education at the time of application or newcomers who are under 25 years of age and who wish to gain access to post-secondary education.

We are committed to investing in the future, offering bursaries to graduating students who have lost a parent or guardian and are pursuing post-secondary education.

This award is presented in loving memory of Karam Dodd, a past graduate of NDSS. Karam's generosity inspired all who knew him and this award allows him to continue helping others. This award is intended for a graduating NDSS student who has financial need and has struggled in school (learning disability, dyslexia, ADHD, etc.). Preference will be given to a student who is planning to pursue a career in the trades. Applicants must submit a brief essay or letter about their experience and explain who has helped to make an impact on their learning.

Scholarships to help outstanding young musicians achieve their musical goals
Due Date: April 30
The Nanaimo District Teachers’ Association (NDTA) offers up to five (5) $1,000 awards to graduating students. These awards are open to the children or grandchildren of active NDTA members who are currently graduating from a public high school in British Columbia.

The Environmental Sustainability Award is provided to a graduating student from Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools who will be attending an accredited post-secondary institute in the field of Environmental Studies. The student must have demonstrated a commitment to Environmental Stewardship through participation and/or leadership in a variety of school and/or community activities during their Grade 11 and 12 years. The student must provide a letter describing what they have done to promote environmental sustainability at the local level, what they see as environmental problems and needs for Canada and how they hope to be a part of the solution.
