During Module 5, students from Year 7 and Year 8 took on the challenge of the UK Maths Trust’s Junior Maths Challenge. The Junior Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK; it encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
The problem solving questions included in the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think deeply and, by taking on the challenge, students demonstrated our LAB values of ambition and scholarship. Students achieving a bronze, silver or gold award have shown themselves to possess outstanding problem solving abilities, and all involved in the Challenge will receive a certificate of participation and a Mathematics Ambassador Badge.
