You are now on the Laleham Gap Wellbeing and Therapies Site.
Laleham Gap WAVE is our brand new soft-landing suite that offers a gentle pathway back to learning. The suite has been designed as a dedicated space for children who find it difficult to attend school due to anxiety or Emotional Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).
We understand that for some learners, the traditional school environment can feel overwhelming. WAVE offers a calm, nurturing setting where children can begin to rebuild their confidence and re-engage with education with a flexible and supportive approach.
Our vision is to provide the very best support for children and families during these challenging times. WAVE builds on our existing EBSNA strategies, offering a small-steps approach that focuses on emotional wellbeing, trust, and gradual reintegration. With a team of trained wellbeing staff, we create personalised plans that aim to meet each child where they are.
Every child’s journey at WAVE is unique. We take time to understand each learner’s individual needs and build a personalised plan that supports their emotional wellbeing and educational progress. Whether a child needs a gentle reintroduction to learning or more structured support, our flexible approach aims to ensure they feel safe, understood, and empowered.
On-site tuition tailored to their pace and learning style.
Bespoke timetables that gradually build confidence and routine.
Supportive staff who are trained in emotional wellbeing and trauma-informed practice.
Reduced and steady peer interaction with other children who share similar experiences, helping reduce feelings of isolation or overwhelm, depending on each child's needs.
Therapeutic activities and school-based interventions that nurture emotional growth and resilience.
We want to work closely with families to ensure that every step taken at WAVE is meaningful and manageable. Our goal is to help children feel ready and able to re-engage with education in a way that works for them.
