You are now on the Laleham Gap Wellbeing and Therapies Site.
At Laleham Gap, we understand that to create an environment where children and young people can thrive, we must also recognise, nurture and protect the wellbeing of our staff.
As a special school, our staff are our most important resource. We know that listening to, caring for and investing in the adults in our school so that they too feel safe and supported is vital to our children’s wellbeing.
Providing these things allows staff to authentically demonstrate good wellbeing and happy, well-rested staff make for good role models. Protecting staff wellbeing allows them to remain resilient, be more dynamic, accept supportive feedback. It also helps staff to show an unyielding professional and positive regard for both colleagues and the children they encounter in their day-to-day work, keeping interactions constructive and meaningful, thus enhancing the wellbeing of our whole community.
In addition, the school provides other dedicated services, including:
Wellbeing Support Sessions
Support and guidance on accessing Staff Care and Support Services
To build good wellbeing among our staff, we support them to run a growing range of wellbeing clubs and initiatives for adults in our community. These include:
Guardian Angel Scheme
Staff Art Club
Staff Table Tennis
Staff Yoga
Wellbeing Resource Library
Food Club
Wellbeing Café and Quiz Nights
In addition to the clubs, the school provides other dedicated services, including:
Wellbeing Support Sessions with a trained case worker.
Individual and Team Supervision
Support and guidance on accessing Staff Care and Support Services such as counselling.
A resource board in the staffroom with other informaiton such as NHS support services.
Each week, we hold a TA meeting where staff are encouraged to celebrate their colleagues and say thank you to each other. This small, but positive gesture gives provides space for us to show our gratitude for the colleagues that support us.
