The Hamish and Milo Intervention Programme is a ten-week wellbeing initiative designed to help children build emotional literacy, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Developed by experienced educators and psychotherapists, the programme explores ten key emotional themes, such as friendship, anxiety, self-esteem, anger, loss, and change.
At our school, these sessions form part of both our universal and targeted approach to supporting children. Teachers may deliver the programme to a whole class, but some pupils benefit from taking part in small-group interventions outside their usual lessons, normally in the Workshop. When your child is invited to join an intervention group, we will contact you beforehand.
Each session uses creative, playful activities - such as crafts, journaling, discussion, and reflection - to help children express themselves and develop practical emotional tools.
Sessions begin with a warm welcome and check-in, followed by a focus activity and end with reflection and a wellbeing journal entry. Delivered by trained staff, the programme helps children feel heard, valued, and supported.
