You are now on the Laleham Gap Wellbeing and Therapies Site.
Our ethos at Laleham Gap is to always support children in the classroom wherever we can. The universal support stratrgies we have in place support most of our children very well.
However, there are times where specific targeted or specialist work needs to take place as a small group or one-to-one basis. In these instances we have a number of specially designed spaces where we carry out our therapeutic support.
The Workshop is our therapeutic class space where a wide range of small group interventions are delivered. It also has a range of sensory resources, including a busy wall which our children can access.
The snug was designed as a space with calmness at its heart. It is used for Thrive sessions. It is also used as a quiet space for small groups during our afternoon Reading+time.
The Art and Play Therapy room is a quiet therapeutic space where children engage with there sessions in privacy. The materials and work they produce are locked away and kept safe between sessions so that the children feel contained.
The cabin is a quiet break-out space which staff and therapists can use daily to support small groups and individuals with both targeted and specialist support.
Our sensory room has been upgraded as of September 2024 and is a space that can be accessed by children from across the school to meet their sensory need.
The Pod is a safe and calm space for children who need extra comfort and quiet to calm and relax.
These break out spaces can be accessed by individuals or small groups when they need a quiet place to work or relax and unwind.
Our learning support suite is staffed every day by members of the Wellbeing Team who are available to assist children with learning if they need some time away from class, or prefer to work alone.
