Get Outlook 2021 ready for KUMail by following the steps below.
If you already have other accounts in Outlook 2021, be sure to add KUMail as a new, separate account to prevent trouble.
*We use the version for Windows 11 in the explanation.
1. Open Outlook (not “Outlook (new)”) ,
enter your KUMail address (~@kyoto-u.ac.jp) , and click "Connect".
Note:
If you already have an account set up,
click File > Add account in the menu bar.
2. Check that your KUMail address(~@kyoto-u.ac.jp) is displayed,
and click “Next".
3. Sign in with your SPS-ID and password.
After you click Login,
you'll be asked to authenticate with a second factor.
For more on this multi-factor authentication,
see Multi-Factor Authentication User's Guide.
4. Outlook requests access to your Google account. Click ALLOW.
5. Uncheck Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too and click OK.
Outlook 2021 is now ready for KUMail.
Note:
When you set up for the first time, it may take some time for Mail to retrieve your messages. Don't close the window until it's over.
If you want to change your sender address (From address), you must add it to the web version of Gmail in advance.
