Log in to KUMail

This page is targeted at 

First, confirm that you can log in to KUMail.

1. On the groupware for faculty and staff, click the Mail icon, or simply access https://mail.google.com/a/kyoto-u.ac.jp.

When you bookmark KUMail in your browser, use this URL.

Note: When the message,  "There are two existing accounts for kyoto-u.ac.jp." appears, it’s because you have already signed up for Google service with your KUMail address. Before you go on, you need to get rid of the conflicting account by deleting it. See the related FAQ on IIMC website.

2. Log in with your SPS-ID and its password to click Login.

In addition to your SPS-ID and password, you need to authenticate with a second factor. For more information, see Multi-Factor Authentication.

If you've logged in to another system and SSO (Single Sign-On) is enabled for the system, you may skip this step.

3. Read the explanation carefully and click 同意する (Agree).

To use KUMail for Faculty and Staff at Kyoto University, which is powered by G Suite for Education and provided by IIMC, you must agree Google Terms of Service and G Suite for Education Privacy Notice.

4. Click 完了 (CONFIRM) on the "Protect your account" screen.

If you click press 更新 (UPDATE), you can add a phone number and an email address for account recovery. This setting is not required and you can set it up afterward.

5. Click 次へ (Next).

You can choose how KUMail looks for your account. Pick one for your preference and click OK. (You can change the view anytime afterward.)

6. When you see your inbox, you've successfully logged in to KUMail.

How to change your preferred language for Google service

1. Access https://myaccount.google.com/language?utm_source=google-account&utm_medium=web.

Under 既定の言語 (Default Language), click the pencil-shaped icon.

2. Choose your preferred language and click 選択 (Select).

Now you've logged in to KUMail, go back to Home and go on to the next step.
